Curse you Bowie!

Watch the third season of Venture Brothers, he's like every character.

I liked the Bowie-produced Lour Reed music but... Oy, the stage act. It worked for Bowie, not for Reed. Now Iggy, he's timeless.

I think they both acquit themselves just fine. Bowie's characters are timeless, Major Tom has entered the mass consciousness and will be around a lot longer than we. Reed flat-out writes great songs, it can't be denied. He's a huge prick, but that's our Lou! I wonder what he had to say to Paul Simon?

Lou says "hi"

"No, my ego is bigger!"

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'd be happy, actually, to hear Lou re-record everything between, say, Berlin and New York with his current production values and band. Great songs in many cases, but the performance left much to be desired. Oy, that one where he uses a drum machine...

Hey, I've asked that question elsewhere, that's the best answer yet!

Oy, that one where he uses a drum machine...

Metal Machine Music - that classic? Here's an example of the song shining through over the players:

The Velvet Underground: Sweet Jane

No, I was thinking Mistrial. 1986, right before the good again. Kinda meh. A couple good track, I guess, but largely uninspired. He hadda pay the rent...

As for Loaded, yeah, the lineup really didn't work very well. That's why I'm always happy to find a bootleg of the VU with the original lineup that is new to me.

I have the demo from the Fully Loaded release. It is 7.6mb - can your email handle it?

Lyrics are a bit different, I'm not certain if it is Mo or Doug Yule (or whoever) on drum. Different but interesting for a demo.

I'm glad you enjoyed, Bowie always hits the spot! Tomorrow, Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs, with all sorts of associated pics and videos. I'm skipping over Pin Ups cause it's a covers album.

Man... one time I was at work, at Home Depot,
and I noticed that the PA started playing
70s music one morning. I wasn't feeling
all that great that morning... until they
started playing Queen Bitch. The moment
that song started playing, I was going mad!
"WHY THE HELL ARE THEY PLAYING THIS! THEY
NEVER PLAY THIS SONG! NOT EVEN ON THE RADIO!
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? EEEEEEEEEEE!"

...let's just say that my morning was
instantly better. Queen Bitch is a fave.

Ahhh...

They also used a clip of it in that one "Run Fatboy Run"
movie that I watched with my girlfriend once.

"THEY ARE PLAYING QUEEN BITCH!"
