the future, already in progress...

Chinatown:
Have you ever seen into the future? Felt you had a sure feeling what awaits? Star Trek: Deep Space Nine had the Bajoran Prophets/Wormhole Aliens, characters that existed outside of time and space with no understanding of linear existance. Max Headroom lived a constant Twenty Minutes Into the Future. For me, it's always a fun exercise to imagine life not bound by the constraints of time. Humans are fascinated by the notion of knowing what waits ahead - if we could only get one-up on the future, think of all the things that could be accomplished.
Since there's no time machines, the closest we've come to a reliable portal to the future are Time Capsules. The idea goes all the way back to the earliest human civilizations in Mesopotamia, humankind started trying to span time since they were sucking the marrow out scavenged bones.
People want to know what awaits them so badly that many are willing to pay others to "read" their future. Now, if that's the case, for a small fee I'm available for consultations - I'm sure you'll find that my percentage of correct prognostications is equal or better to John Edward, internationally known author and television personality. Hell, I'll give you the first one for free - I predict that soon you're going to download some music and feel good while listening to it. How's that for starters?
