your cash aint nothin' but trash

After the 2000 elections, a Democratic president left behind a budget surplus as the Republican Party came to Washington with a majority in both houses of Congress and on the Supreme Court. So much for being fiscally conservative, the Republican dominated government immediately ran up a big deficit every year since, doubling the national debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion.

The US government's $700 billion plan to bail out the banking system will give the US Treasury new powers to monetize private business failures and fraud. It will be encumbered with $5 trillion in new debt before September and probably another trillion and a half, which will all be laid on the next President's doorstep.

I say let the free market work, why hand out corporate welfare while people are losing their homes? Anyway you slice it, the US economy will be in the shitter for years to come. My solution? Learn Mandarin so you can find work once our Chinese overlords take over. Good luck, peeps - we're going to need it.

Interesting how high financiers become Socialists in times like this. Of course, once the crisis passes, back to screwing the masses.

Let the system play itself out - that's what I've been hearing my entire life, so far. In my experience, most times you're told you have only a short time to decide something of this sort of import, something's up. This stinks, exactly the sort of maneuver I'd expect from the last days of Bush, one last big fleece.

There's enough anti-bailout noise from left and right that we might get lucky and have the Bush-Paulson proposal derailed. The concept that the people who dreamed up the convoluted finance system of the past 20 years coming up with a fix that is both fair and functional is pretty dubious.

Once upon a time only Washington's face was on our money, now Washington's hands are on it too (unknown source), so send lawyers, guns and money - the shit has hit the fan.

Money Money Money ......Money some people got to have, some people really need it.....do things do things ...yeah!!! Excellent.

Funky dollor bill yaw...Let the system crash all the bailout will do is help some balance their balance sheets and not stop the downward spiral that is going to consume all the people that worked their tails off to build something for themselves that now is fastly going away, with the swoop of Bush's magic wand. Now you see it now you don't. Funky Dollar bill yaw.......
