the trouble with problems

Summer=procrastination, at least for the lazy, hazy, crazy days of Summer sorta guy that I am. Since Labor Day ended, I was hit with the realization that I've let things pile up and now find myself surrounded by troubles. If there was ever a problematic time of the year, it's now - replace the oxygen sensor for the Mustang, fix that broken bathroom drain pipe, convince the landlord that African waterbugs and roaches are one and the same; I'm sure you have your own list of crap to plow through. Here's to trials, tribulations, dilemmas, difficulties and predicaments.

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." - Albert Einstein

"Science is always wrong: it never solves a problem without creating ten more." - George Bernard Shaw

"If you only have a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." - Abraham Maslow

"It isn't that they can't see the solution. It is that they can't see the problem." - G. K. Chesterton

"There is always a well-known solution to every human problem; neat, plausible, and wrong." - H. L. Mencken

"People don’t want their lives fixed. Nobody wants their problems solved. Their dramas. Their distractions. Their stories resolved. Their messes cleaned up. Because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown." - Chuck Palahniuk

"There's two kinds of problems: the kind you run from and the kind you run to. Make sure you know which is which." - Anonymous

"There are very few personal problems that cannot be solved through a suitable application of high explosives" - Scott Adams

"The solution of every problem is another problem" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"What do I know about Myspace? It's an Internet site where people, who have nothing better to do with their time, go and chat about a whole bunch of nonsense. We could eliminate a third of the problems in this country, if people actually had to shovel coal into a furnace for heat... rather than spending all that time they have making problems for other people, by sitting at their personal computers doing things other than those which PCs were actually designed for." - Judge Judy Sheindlin

NO! especially as we haven't had any real summer to speak of - and now it's definitely autumn. the leaves are turning brown and it's cold and wet outside. i'm moving to california.

It's been a wonderfully temperate Summer in Southern California this year and we've been starting to get an Indian Summer as it's been warming up. This is the best part of the year out here now, all the tourists are gone and there's room to stretch at the beach. But I *do* miss Fall in New York, there's nothing like it.

In the meantime, I'll put out a blanket out on the beach for you - maybe it'll speed up the process.

I am Leon Phelps, and how y'all doing tonight? I am ready for the show, I've got some Courvoisier cognac, and my scented candles, and I'm ready to take your calls, so, uh, just dial the number that you see flashing below there, and you can talk to me, Leon Phelps, The Ladies Man. Alright. Go ahead, caller.
