crazy, part two
This Mars Needs Guitars post helped me realize it's desert island time. Too much garbage into the brain, of late. I hope your summer has been better than mine. Here's a soundtrack to go nuts by.

i love high anxiety. and i think several of us need to run away to deserted islands this summer. not necessarily the same island; i wouldn't want to intrude on anyone's solitary confinement.

i love high anxiety.

If you click on the YouTube link, someone posted the whole movie. I ended up watching it for the umpteenth time, I forgot how entertaining it was.

i think several of us need to run away to deserted islands this summer.

You'd think the fact I live at the beach would mean some peace and quiet, but all the new condos and vacation rentals have turned this into Miami Beach. People start drinking in the ayam and by 5PM, they're stoopid drunk. This means pissing and defecating on the buildings (there's like three restrooms for five miles of beach).

Also, the tenants that are here for the summer are still waking/keeping me up between 12AM-5AM. Last night, at 3AM, I had to go outside to tell them to turn it down. I need 7-8 hours of sleep to function, I'm now averaging about 3-4.

To add to the fun, family members are simultaneously going through life changing health issues that are more than one person can handle.

This is not to mention all the assholes that live in the area that's sole reason for being is to cause chaos. I'm still the manager here, so I have to confront them when they decide to bring it to the building. It's hard to believe one of the reasons I moved here was boredom, I'm ready to go back to having a dull life. Plus, the weather has continued to be unseasonably cold and cloudy, so not much chance to swim and lay in the sun. The last few years, that would help me chill out.

i wouldn't want to intrude on anyone's solitary confinement.

Oh, I wouldn't mind a handful of people on my island, as long as they weren't disruptive.

Mel Brooks is always great.

I hope things improve for you. Try to get more sleep. When I don't get enough sleep everything is haywire.

Mel Brooks is a genius. From Get Smart to Broadway, I'm sure his musical adaption of Young Frankenstein will be a success.

If I don't get my sleep, the wires in my brain get crossed. I can't get anything done. This just in - the worst one of all, my neighbor, just got his notice! I can handle drunk Irish pub singers, but not a tri-amped sound system turned to 11. My walls would literally shake. Daft Punk is now *not* playing at his house. Now I'm going to have to post my Spinal Tap video. It takes YouTube a bit to upload, but give me a few minutes...

even 6 would be very inconsiderate - I hope you get a warm sunny day soon and can lay on the sand and close your eyes and feel the warm sun and listen to the waves - ahhhh

If I can find any room around the corporate booths for high energy drinks, beachwear, etc.

But the idea that sleep-filled nights are ahead is very comforting. I keep reminding myself the tourists will be gone in less than two months, that helps.

There must be a spot on the edge somewhere - where most people don't go - where there are dunes maybe and some beach shrubs.

I wonder if there is a thing that you could do with all those people - take pictures of them - sell them something - turn them into your minions - have them sign petitions - go along the beach with a metal detector - maybe turn the problem into an opportunity like republicans do. Maybe dress up in a costume and run after people. Okay that may be too crazy. It is overcast and humid today - the air is so heavy - the sun sparkling on the waves is such a delightful thought to me. The smells of the beach - the sound of crashing waves - salt air and sun tan lotion - half naked people - I envy you.

Oh, we don't have dunes here, like back east. Just about 50 yards of flat sand that's been dredged up from the ocean.

go along the beach with a metal detector

And add to the endless people already doing so? I think I'll pass on that one.

Maybe dress up in a costume and run after people

We got many of them, as well, heh.

I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Well, thanks for the nice thoughts. I've have a lot of miles of bumpy road in my life, a few more have been added. Hopefully, some smooth sailing ahead.
